Before the road test
- 180 days on the permitThe permit is held at least 180 days without a listed violation or conviction.
- Minimum age16 years old
- Clean record on the permitA violation adds at least 180 days from its date before the road test.
- Driver training enrolmentEnrol in a school, driving school, or state traffic school course. Finishing it is needed before the full licence.
- Signed Practice Driving LogThe learner and a parent or guardian sign it. Show it to the State Police examiner before the skills test.
When they can drive
- Midnight to 6 a.m.No driving unless there is good cause, such as an emergency, school, or work.
